Guest Post: Fashion Can Empower You During Cancer Treatment ~ Jackie Clark

After receiving a diagnosis of cancer from your mesothelomia doctor or other oncologist; it's not uncommon to feel defeated and emotionally overwhelmed. However, don't worry ladies, fashion is something that can never lose in the fight against cancer. Raise your spirits up and gain a little pep in your step with looking and feeling beautiful. To feel empowered in your fight against cancer, you incorporate some of these fashion tips to help you look fabulous and feel more comfortable doing it!

Color, color, color!

Color is an instant pick-me-up that can make your complexion look and feel healthier and also make a woman more radiant in her own skin. To bring out your natural glow, incorporate colorful clothing items around your face to bring out the color in your complexion. A vibrant scarf, sweater or head wrap is an ideal way to add a splash of color and liven up and old outfit worn around the house.

Soft Fabrics

When you're feeling low from cancer treatment, it's nice to feel soothed in anyway possible. By wearing clothes made from soft fabrics, you can enjoy luxurious feeling against your skin, while avoiding itchiness or restriction caused by other fabrics. Soft cotton, silk, satin or cashmere feels good against the skin and allows a woman relax in ease. Wear clothing made with these fabrics in some of your favorite colors to spice up your everyday routine.

Spring Fashion

Wintertime isn't quite over but that doesn't mean you have to continue wearing winter fashion. Spring fashion is right around the corner and is typically more colorful and fun as consumers are ready to break free of basic black and big and baggie sweaters. This spring boasts many fashions in bright floral and neon colors. Treat yourself to a few garments that make you feel as if you're breaking free from winter and starting your own personal, inner springtime.

Comfort and Style

New shoes can add a lot of fun to your wardrobe, as well as color and style. You may not feel like stepping out in the latest stiletto heels but you can wear comfortable wedges or flats to complement some of your favorite outfits. Choose shoes that feel comfortable inside and out, but make sure they have color or a pattern that makes you feel just as sexy as you will look!

When you're dealing with the side effects from cancer treatment, fashion often becomes much about comfort as it does style. Being comfortable and feeling great in your clothing doesn't have to equate to looking frumpy or plain. By incorporating color and soft-textured fabrics into your fashion you can breathe life into your wardrobe and feel beautiful without  sacrificing comfort. The latest fashions as well as the classics have something to offer you in terms of beauty. Shift your focus from sickness to wellness by lifting your spirit and taking control of your appearance with trendy, colorful fashions.
